Answered Prayer : A CAR

This post gives me chills just to write it,

God is so faithful to us -

He has answered our prayer!

Just a few months back,

On March 18th, 2014

We launched our ministry,

We then shared our vision and heart with you!

After many requests from you my sweet friends,

we carefully wrote a list of our most urgent needs and shared it with you.

For months we have been praying for each of those needs -

knowing that in His timing God would provide.

Just days before our 'Gems' debut on July 10th 2014,

we continued to pray for our most urgent need:

We knew that when our 'Gems' arrived we would have

many doctor and hospital runs.

We also knew that with medically fragile Gems,

in the event of an emergency in the night

we would have to be prepared.

We continued to pray as a Staff for our need.

Little did we know,

across the ocean God began to stir the heart of a ministry in Oklahoma.

Words fail me.

Last week as I sat in the office I loaded my email.

To my surprise there was an email in my inbox.

Not only had someone completely donated the funds for the car

but they also donated above and beyond for our fuel to and from the hospital.

But it gets even better then that.

The donors for the car are from Minnesota and owners of a
company that works with special needs adults and
children in there community.

Isn't that amazing?

God is so into the details!

Tears fill my eyes.

Oh my sweet friends....

God has answered our prayer!!

Our joy and thanksgiving cannot be contained!!

On behalf of our  'Gems',

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

God has answered our prayers!

My sweet friends,

He hears your cries.

If you have a need in your life or need prayer,

comment below -

we as a Staff would love to pray for you!

Meet Our 'Gem' Jackson!!

I'm so very excited for you to meet this little man!

He is seriously a true heart stealer.

Most readily understand,
care for a special needs gem is entirely
different than those without significant need.

Due to this reality,

has created a "team" for each Gem
which will consist of several
team members who contribute to their
Gem's care.

Each team member will be sent
regular updates, pictures and information
that will give each team member
the joy of personally 'knowing' their gem.

This little guy just joined our home last week!

He's the newest addition to our 'Gem' family and we are so in love with him!

Meet our precious,

He is a pure Joy!

He may seem tiny at first,

but this little man has a big personality!

He loves to make noise and we affectionately call him our beat-boxer or our DJ!

He loves to play with his toys and to be cuddled.

He enjoys the outdoors and when not outside he is continually found near a window!

Jackson is hearing impaired and has several other special needs.

It is our prayer that our Jackson will heal and that he will be able to learn sign language.

He is working with our physical therapist where our goal is to someday see him walk.

We have no doubt God can heal him and we pray that someday he will even hear our voices.

We know nothing is impossible with God and we cling to that hope as we pray!

Meet Our 'Gem' Shafik

I'm so very excited to introduce you to the newest addition here at

{pronounced Sha-feek}

When I first met Shafik at Watoto Baby Home,

he immediately came over and greeted me with a hug!

From that moment on,

he had stolen a piece of my heart and was never far from my thoughts.

I continually would ask the staff after the initial transfer of our first 'Gems'

how he was.

When I received news just last week that he indeed

was going to be transferred from

Watoto Child Care Ministries,

I was overjoyed!!

With his shy personality and his love for snuggles,

its hard not to fall in love.

He enjoys music and exploring the outdoors.

Even though he is the most mobile in our home,

he is always looking to be picked up and cuddled!

Shafik has Autism and mild brain trauma.

It is our prayer that Shafik,

will be healed and someday use his voice to communicate.

We are so in love with him and so very thankful that he has joined our 'Gem' family!

One Month - 13 Gems and Counting!

I can hardly believe it's been only one month since we opened our doors

and welcomed our first Gems home!!

What an amazing month it has been!

Our hearts are overflowing with His faithfulness.

We went from opening on July 10th and welcoming eleven precious 'Gems' home.

Then just last week we received the joyful and exciting news

that our home would be growing by four feet!

I was in awe and amazement that yet again we would be

blessed with two more little boys!

Boy oh boy -

I just love the way God works!

We have also grown as a staff to a total of 23!

Yet again I am reminded of His faithfulness.

I am so honored to serve alongside such Godly people,

who deeply love Jesus and our 'Gems'.

Our staff was so very excited to welcome our newest additions to our "Gem" family home.

Even the rain couldn't stop our precious "Gems" from making their debut!

Meet our boys!!

S & J

You didn't think I was going to give you their full name did you?!

That my sweet friends, will just have to wait for each of their formal introductions.

But trust me, it was love at first sight!

We have finally made a Bakers Dozen and we couldn't be happier.

We are so excited to see all that God is doing and going to do through

I am so excited to officially introduce you to S & J,

beginning, Lord willing, tomorrow!

There is only one thing left to say,

Welcome Home sweet boys,

Welcome Home!

Meet Our 'Gem' Elisha

I'm so excited to introduce you to our newest addition here at

This little guy just joined our home last Friday!

Due to his recent medical procedure his final transfer took longer then the others.

The moment he arrived he quickly stole all of our hearts!

With his sweet smile and expression,

it's hard not to fall in love!!!

He is one of the most happy and content little guys I have ever met.

He is continually smiling and his favorite thing to do is listen to music!!

All you have to do is turn on a radio and he will smile the day away.

Elisha has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and Reflux Disease which makes him

unable to take any type of food through the mouth.

Recently he underwent a procedure and had a PEG port put in his stomach.

and he now feeds all meals through it.

Elisha loves to be held and enjoys being talked to and told stories.

Even with all of his medical needs he is a joyful and happy camper -

His sweet spirit continually fills our home with cheer!

It is our prayer that Elisha will be healed and that he will be

able to take solid food through his mouth.

We pray that his body will heal and that someday he will be able to communicate to us.

We are so thankful to have welcomed him home as he joined our family!

Elisha makes number eleven of our sweet boys.

Boy oh' Boy My Heart Overflows!
