Thankful Thursday family style and dancing :)

This Thursday I'm thankful for quiet a few things, In my house my family plays a game when people tend to be well grumpy, so we start with someone who is not grumpy and say "Hey ___________ 10 things your thankful for" they will give the 10 things happily then we eventually get to the grumpy person and they say 10 things. Not sure why we always start like that wouldn't it be easier to just say hey your grumpy give me 10 things your thankful for now!! Haha but thats not how we roll it just wouldn't be the same...So this thursday Im thankful for 10 very special things to me...

1.The oppertunity to be thankful I wouldn't like only being able to be grumpy if you couldn't be thankful man life would umm stink

2. Bracelets and lots of them I love wearing them at least 2 to 3 on each arm makes it so much more cheerful :)

3. Toes and fingers there just so cute :) and lots of fun to write faces on :)

4. colors I love color can you imagine if you woke up every morning to another black and white sky! I love waking up to a blue crisp beautiful winter morning. I just love colors!

5. my brothers and sister I have so much fun with :)

6. Ssenge Village outside of Kampala Uganda ohh my how I feel at home there :)

7. Planes and cars can you imagine if we were still using wagons and everything you know how long it would take for us to go and get places!!

8. Best Friends

Long time no post

Hey all my fellow readers, so I am not very good at posting and I want to ask you to forgive me!! Haha.. Life has been pretty crazy!! The River Run went amazing!! I was able to sell a lot of necklaces for the girls in Uganda!! I also ran a 7k for the orphans in Kenya so lots of running and things going on :)) So now there is this concert coming up at my church. Were expecting about 600+ kids!! Please be praying for kids hearts to be open and for God to do something big in my highschool!! A lot of the girls who are helping with the concert have been getting sick so I'd like to ask you to pray for there healing as I believe it is spiritual war far that the devil doesn't want these girls to do what they need to so please be praying!! Thank you all so much!! I'll post again soon! -Emma

River Run for Orphans

Often people wonder what practical things they can do for the Orphans of our world?!?!!

Here's an idea: This weekend I will be running 3.1 miles for Orphans at our church's: River Run for Orphans

Every penny I raise will be given to the orphans of Africa within the ministries that I have worked with. As you all know, my heart is with the children and babies there.

What can be done: Would you possibly consider sponsoring me? Maybe skip a Starbucks or getting your nails done this week? Even your $5.00 would make the difference.

The money I raise will be used to help little orphans in Ssenge Village
and
little boys like Ronald..
and Stuart....
and little girls from Open Door Orphanage...

If you'd like to sponsor me just E-mail me at: joinmeonamission@yahoo.com

Send me a quick email committing to sponsor me and then send your check to: The River church 860 Plymouth Drive Durango, CO 81301

Your gift for the orphans is tax-deductible.

In the check's memo, please write: Emma S./River Run

Thank you so much on behalf of those that can't thank you!!

Long time no posts *Please Pray*

Hey Everyone, its been awhile since I have had time to just sit down and post..Since being back from Uganda I got really sick inbetween running to Greeley for my little brother Isaiah's cast changes for his treatments,Ballet, youth band, church, baby sitting. All my family came home for my brother Ty's wedding on friday June 26th:)) then Ben who calls me his sister got married saturday!! Sooo exciting :)) .. Well several days ago Isaiah had a surgery in Iowa City,Iowa...So my Parents, Isaiah and Liberty set off...Isaiah's Surgery went well but the day after his surgery my Dad got really sick, he had been on and off with the flu at least that's what we thought it was at the time...He was so sick that my Mom took him to the ER while Isaiah was still recovering... He was immediately addmitted to the same hospital Isaiah was in and found that his liver numbers were extreamly high. It turns out that he has Hepatitis. It looks like it is Hepatitis A.. Please pray for my Mom and Dad and family as we go through this! Thank you for all your prayers! -Emma

Emma is Sick

This is Linny, Emma's mom. The team has been battling sickness and now Emma has it too. It involves lots of throwing up, etc. Please pray for them. It is one thing to be really sick at home. It is entirely different to be throwing up, etc., in another country.

There are been amazing things that have been happening, but I will let Emma share those. For now, please pray for complete healing and that the remainder of the team will stay well and protected and safe. The power of God's people praying together is amazing - so thank you so much!!

In Uganda..loving every minute of it.

Hey Everyone and my mommy!! I am in Uganda..And I could not be happier!! We've been working with African hearts in Ssenge Village!! Such as planting 1000 trees to form a fence around the boys home to protect them. Also building a kitchen but not just any kitchen its also going to be big enough to use as a guest house and a storage center...We are building it rather fast. :) we have to move about 5,000 bricks although we have not finished moving them so we form a long line and toss them to one another i've got a few cuts and scrapes but im alright..We have 4 people on the team sick out of 19..Please be praying for them as the devil is not very happy about the work we are doing here...please keep us in your prayers!
Much love from Uganda..Now off to the debrief goodnight
p.s. I miss you guys mommy tell isaiah lib and elizabeth and Elijah I love them!!

Come On Lets Make Some Rag Dolls :))

So I've been thinking and well at random times in the day my mind wonders everywhere one minute I'm thinking about a friend the next its watermelon yes very random..Well the other day when I was at my burned out house I picked up my little rag doll Ida bean..
That's when I got an idea..What if I asked my bloggy friends and there friends to make a rag doll for the little girls in Uganda? And inside everyone they make they tuck a little piece of paper of a prayer for that girl that would receive it in Uganda?! They are super simple to make as I have made several myself! So anyone in? The dolls I would take in October/November this year when I went back with my Mom or Dad :) The girls in Uganda don't have any toys and I think this would mean so much to these little girls! Are you in?

Collecting for Orphans Bean*e Babies

Hey Everyone :),Im heading back to Uganda in just about 1 month and 19 days!! YIKES :) I am so excited!! This will be my 3rd time there in less then a year!! And well the bean*e babies that some of you helped collect have been such a hit that I am asking that you guys would help collect some more!! Last July I took 200+ and the children loved them!! Well a few months ago Jessica one of my good friends who lives in Uganda(serving with African Hearts) wrote me and said this "The other day I was walking in the village carrying a sack on my head and I looked over and saw a little girl carrying one too and i looked and thought what is on her sack i realized it was one of the bean*e babies that Emma had brought!"

The children love them as they don't have any toys!! I also took them to several orphanages and would love to be able to take some more back to the kids this time!! So if you have any bean*e babies that are in good condition and you want to send them this way :) the mailing address is -

Martha

When I was in Uganda the first time, I came I visited Sanyu Babies home orphanage...Since then I have fallen in love with the babies there and I love going and holding them and playing games with them and just spending time feeding the babies... While there this time I fell in love with this little girl whos name is Martha....Since then i've been praying for her to find a family and to gain weight and to be loved on...and so the other day a worker sent me a photo of her in the christmas play...here she is Martha as a baby lamb!
